This is because poor people usually have a tougher time getting quality apartment living with their income.

To figure out if you are able to live in these types of apartments, you can go online to HUDs website. Your household income is used to base whether you can get these apartments or not. On their website, it should show how much money you have to make in order to qualify.

Once you have figured that out, you can apply through HUD. You will probably need to give them copies of pay stubs or other documents that show your household income. If HUD approves your application, they will give you a voucher which you will use at the apartment of your choice.

After you have picked out an apartment that you have the most interest in, go for a preview of the area. Talk to the residents and you can get a clear picture of what it is like to live in that complex. Ask some specific questions about the low income apartment such as whether or not the apartment pays for cable, internet, and utilities.
